This one’s for the fragrance lovers. Our potted gardenia is a total heart-stealer — full of glossy green leaves, plenty of buds, and those classic white blooms that smell absolutely divine.
Arriving in a clean white ceramic pot, this beauty brings charm and calm to any space. The blooms open slowly, filling the room with that signature sweet, creamy gardenia scent we all adore. It’s like a peaceful little garden moment, right on your table or windowsill.
Whether it’s a thoughtful gift or a little treat for yourself, this living plant is one you’ll want to keep close.
Note: Gardenias like bright, indirect light and a little humidity. With some love, those buds will keep on blooming.
Gardenias are known for their beauty and their diva energy — but once you know what they love, they’re not hard to keep happy.
Light: Gardenias thrive in bright, indirect light. A sunny east or west-facing window is ideal. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while too little light will slow blooming.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, but not soggy. Let the top inch of soil dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid letting it completely dry out or sit in standing water.
Humidity: These plants adore humidity. A room with a humidifier, frequent misting, or placing the pot on a pebble tray with water underneath (not touching the bottom of the pot) will help keep them happy.
Temperature: Gardenias prefer consistent temps between 18–22°C (65–72°F). Keep them away from cold drafts, radiators, and sudden temperature changes.
Feeding: During the growing season (spring through early fall), you can fertilize monthly with a fertilizer made for acid-loving plants (optional, but they’ll thank you!).
Extra Tip: Bud drop (when buds fall off before blooming) can happen if the plant is stressed — usually from a sudden temperature shift, low light, or inconsistent watering. Keeping conditions stable is key!
